What you need to know:

 

  1. Retainer Requirement
    • Work on your tax returns will not begin until the retainer is paid.
    • Your tax return will enter the preparation queue once we receive both the retainer and your tax documents.
    • The retainer will be applied to the final invoice, and any unused balance will be refunded at the end of the engagement.
  1. Billing & Payment
    • A final invoice will be provided when your completed tax returns are delivered.
    • The final payment, if any, is due when you sign your e-file authorization forms.
    • If you provided a payment method in advance, we will use that method to collect the final payment.
      • To avoid duplicate payments, please do not submit a separate payment.
    • If no payment method was provided in advance, please ensure the payment is made promptly.
    • Returns will not be e-filed until the final payment has been received.
  1. Document Submission
    • Accepted file formats: PDF, Excel, or Word.
    • We are unable to accept any JPG, PNG, Apple-specific file formats.
      • Please save and submit these files as PDF, Excel, or Word files.
    • To convert photos of documents to PDF, please use or download an app to your phone that will do the work for you.
      • Examples – Canva, iScanner, Adobe Scan, UPDF
    • Whenever possible, please use clear file names starting with the tax year that reflect the document’s contents.
  1. Travel & Deadline Considerations
    • If you will be out of town around a tax deadline or need your return by a specific date, notify us as soon as possible.
  1. Keeping Things on Track
    • Ensure all tax documents are complete before submission.
    • For efficient processing, please submit your records as PDF or paper copies
    • Respond to our inquiries fully and promptly.
      • Emails may contain multiple requests — please respond to all items in your reply.
    • We will notify you when we are close to completing your return.
    • Our firm follows multiple procedures to ensure all tax returns are completed and accounted for.
